Something Different

A little something different on the blog today - 

Earlier in the week I was nominated for the Liebster Blog Award by the talented Cathy Baker over at Rhyme and ReaSON - go say hi.

The Liebster Blog Award is given to bloggers by bloggers. It’s a way to acknowledge each other and say “you’re doing a great job”. It is for blogs with 200 or less followers, so it’s also a nice way to spread the word about smaller blogs and get them more readers and followers! 

When you receive the award, you post 11 random facts about yourself and answer 11 questions from the person(s) who nominated you. You pass the Award onto 11 other blogs (make sure you tell them you nominated them!) and ask them 11 questions. You’re not allowed to nominate the blog(s) who nominated you! 

11 Random Facts about Me (Megan) -

1. I love peanut butter.  Once, in high school, doctors thought I might be allergic.  After about a hundred shots in my back, turns out I have no allergies, just a narrow esophagus - thank the Lord.
2. I once won a blue ribbon in the county fair for cross-stitching (sp?)
3. A couple of days ago, I literally got bench-pressed by the world's strongest 3-yo while helping another nurse hold him for labs.  It was crazy how strong this boy was.
4. I hate to exercise in the formal sense, but take me on a hike in the mountains and I'm stoked.
5. I haven't bought beef in the last 2 years.  Having a husband who hunts provides enough venison to last the entire year, plus is about as organic as it gets.  I'm a fan.
6. I hate melons.  Watermelon, honeydew, cantaloupe.  All gross.
7. I could eat my mom's cornbread dressing, my grandmother's white wedding cookies, and the biscuits/gravy from my hometown's saturday morning flea market every day if possible.  Those ladies know how to cook!  
8. I have been zip-lining, white-water rafting, parasailing and I love roller-coasters.  Can you guess what's next on my list?  
9. I swallowed my 2 front teeth in kindergarten while eating an orange.
10. I recently dropped my iPhone and have been using my old nokia flip-phone from when Brandon and I were dating.  Brandon says I'm hipster using my retro phone :)
11. When I was younger I thought it would be so cool to be one of the sideline reporters for college gameday, but only for certain teams.  What can I say, I'm a SEC fan through and through.

Cathy's questions for Me -

1. Would you rather see a movie at the theater or at home on DVD? Why?  Love doing both, but there's just something about curling up on your couch with a blanket in your pjs and a redbox.
2. If someone wrote a book about your life, what would they title it?  Dang, that's a tough question.
3. Who's your favorite singer or band?  Has always been a tie between Gavin Degraw and John Mayer.
4. If you had to choose a favorite book of the Bible, what would it be and why?  Lately I can't choose just one, but the entire Old Testament has been really speaking to me.  There is so much good stuff packed in there.  The overriding theme of God's endless love and faithfulness never cease to amaze me and fill me with gratitude.
5. Fiction or non-fiction? Why?  Hands-down fiction all the way.  It's the best entertainment, an escape and pure relaxation for me.  There's so many good books out there.
6. How would you spend a million dollars?  Adopt a bunch of babies, go PRN, buy a mountain home and travel the world.
7. Wal-mart or Target?  Seriously?  What's a Wal-mart?  
8. Do you parallel park or drive around the block?  Parallel park.  Had to learn in college to get a spot close to my dorm.
9. What's your favorite cookie?  Molasses Ginger Cookies.  Amazing.
10. If you could go anywhere in the world, where would you go?  To Uganda to bring my boy home.
11. What recent blessing from the Lord would you like to share?  The encouragement and support I've received thus far from close friends who just listen when I need someone to share my heart with has been such a blessing.  Praise God for true friendships!
