An adoption update, a new EP, C4C, and a few good eats

Things are pretty busy right now, so we're going with the bullet update.  Hope you'll forgive me!  Here's a few things going on with us right now.

  • Brandon is getting ready to release his brand new EP, The Bongo Tree Sessions, a week from today!  Next Tuesday you can find it on his site here, on Amazon and iTunes.  Y'all trust me, it is legit.  So good!
  • I'm getting super excited for Created for Care this weekend!  Me and four great friends will be road-tripping down to Georgia to relax, refresh and connect with other mamas (both present and future!) who have adoption near and dear to their hearts.  I have heard such great things about this conference, and I am really expectant to experience it for myself.  I think I am most looking forward to actually meeting some of these wonderful blogosphere friends I've gotten to connect with over the past year.  If you see me, please say hello!
  • I'm working on planning a baby shower I am hosting in February for a close friend.  It's her first baby, gender unknown!, and I'm really excited to love on her during this exciting time.
  • I've been doing a lot of homemade cooking lately.  Here are a few things I've made that I give my 100% approval on.  I will definitely be making them again.  This Vegan Enchilada Casserole and this Husband's Healing Stew.  Seriously, go make that stuff.
  • Some great friends let us borrow their juicer, and let me tell you, it is the real deal.  We've been juicing everything around here.  Kale, beets, carrots; you name it, we've juiced it.  My favorite combo is 1 grapefruit, 1 granny smith apple, 1/2 an english cucumber and 1/2 a beet.  Yum.  Best part is, it turns out hot pink.  Who wouldn't want to sip on that?  Here's a similar version.
  • Thanks to a super thoughtful gift from the hubs for Christmas, I've got some new books on the docket ready to read!  One of my goals is to slow down some and really enjoy my days off when I can and just sit down and read a book!  If you have any good reads you've enjoyed lately, please comment and let me know.  I am always looking for good recommendations.
  • We moved up 1 spot on the list this month!  It's very slow going, but we're excited for some movement and are trusting God with His timing.  One step closer to our little man.  Now that's some good news!
  • Stay tuned for some big, exciting news next week.  I can't say what it is, but we are super excited about it.  I know the suspense is killing you all ;)
  • Last but definitely not least, we have 2 fun and easy ways you can support our adoption coming up soon.  More details to come!

Hope your week is off to a blessed start!  And because I've been so busy lately and am feeling a bit stressed, I'll leave you with one of my favorite pinterest quotes I remind myself of often - it's so true!
