10 months / 1 month

10 months since we started this adoption journey.  1 month (as of 10/11) on the list waiting for our little guy.

The month of September was pretty busy for us.  Our church celebrated its 5-yr anniversary, I went sky-diving, my family came for a visit, and Brandon went to the studio to start recording his acoustic record.  It's hard to believe October is already half-way over.  We've really been blessed with a nice fall and beautiful weather.  Our community group of close couple friends started up tonight, and I am blown away at the friendships we have here.  I am so excited about doing life with these special friends.  We are doing our best to stay occupied during the wait, but I'd be lying if I said that it's easy going about your daily life when you feel like a huge part of you is on the other side of the globe.

While I haven't bought anything big yet for him, I do scout the clearance sections and have found our boy some really cute clothes and shoes.  We just bought him this little plaid trapper hat at REI last week - it's pretty much the cutest thing ever.  I've also started to mentally put together some room ideas for the nursery.  I want it to be something that can grow with him, especially since we don't know how old he's going to be when we bring him home.  While it's so fun, it sometimes feels like a dream to me.  It's hard to connect the fact that we will have a child sometime soon to reality.  I'm sure all you adoptive mommas can relate.  It's not like being pregnant, feeling your baby move, knowing your due date, etc.

We have some fun things planned for the next few months to keep us busy and the time moving.  I'm really looking forward to the holidays, having some time off in December, and spending time with our families.

1 month officially waiting down, 8-11 more to go.  Prayers for peace while we wait - missing our little man.
